In response to the recent expiration and delay of SNAP benefits, we’re organizing a Grocery Gift Card Drive to support impacted Bridlemile families. Our amazing school counselor, Ms. Rachel, will distribute donated gift cards.

How to Help:

• Donate gift cards ($50 or less) to Fred Meyer, Safeway, or Target

• Drop off your cards in the school office this week — collection ends Friday, November 7

Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps ensure that every family in our community has access to fresh food and essentials. Thank you for your generosity and care for one another!

Registration for OBOB is now open for 3rd–5th graders!
Join us Monday, November 3rd, 5:30–6:30 PM in the Bridlemile Library for a Family Info Night to learn about the program, meet other participating families, and check out this year’s title selections. Everyone is welcome!

Bring your family and join us Friday, November 7th at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria for our first Movie Night of the school year!

We’ll be showing the new live-action Lilo & Stitch movie.

Bring a blanket or camp chair and get cozy! We’ll provide popcorn, lemonade, and pizza for everyone to enjoy.

Admission is free — come for the fun and community connection!

The PTA Clothing Center at the Marshall High School Campus serves over 2,000 Portland Public Schools students each year, ensuring every child has access to clean, well-fitting clothing and shoes. Each PPS school is requested to provide volunteers for the Portland PTA Clothing Center.

Bridlemile’s volunteer day is Monday, November 10, 9:30 AM–1:30 PM.

Join us for a new Bridlemile tradition — a Winter Bazaar complete with a pancake breakfast and holiday market! Admission and breakfast is free for all.

🗓Saturday, December 6, 9–11 AM in the Bridlemile cafeteria

Featuring:

• Delicious pancake breakfast

• Teacher gift craft table — contribute to staff holiday appreciation

• Purchase wreaths, greenery, Bridlemile ornaments, and apparel available. All proceeds benefit Bridlemile.

• Local small businesses selling holiday gifts

This event replaces our traditional Foundation Tree Sale — no trees will be sold this year.

Why Join the PTA?
Your membership helps shape how funds are spent and gives you a voice in decisions that directly affect our students. Members can vote on budget changes and program priorities. Sign up via our Membership Toolkit portal today! 

Budget Update

Our updated PTA budget is available for public review — take a look at how your contributions are making an impact.

Changes from the approved budget in June include:

• Removed a few fundraisers including Charleston Wrap (the Foundation is handling that now), Greenery Sale, and Scholastic Book Fair. 

• We raised the teacher classroom funds from $250 to $350 

• We raised the budget for library support and garden committee

• Added grant from the Bridlemile Foundation for $15,000

• Added in a winter community event & talent show

PTA & Foundation Partnership

The PTA and Foundation are continuing to work together to provide the best experience for our Bridlemile community. The PTA will continue to focus on building community and creating events that bring our community together. The Foundation will focus on streamlining asks for money and creating fewer fundraisers with larger impact. We're working together for our students! Becoming a member of the Bridlemile PTA helps you have a voice in how we spend our community’s resources.

At the meeting, we’ll discuss upcoming projects, budget updates, and volunteer opportunities. All community members are welcome!

The Oregon PTA is working on a new resolution in support of school libraries across the state, to be adopted at their annual convention in April.

They recently hosted a Capitol to Classrooms conversation featuring Kate Weber, Ayn Frazee, and Jean Gritter from the Oregon Association of School Libraries, discussing the challenges school libraries face and how we can help.
