Below are the final results of the election for the 2026-2027 board. This board will be effective as of July 1, 2026. We appreciate your time, dedication, and willingness to serve the Bridlemile community.
'26-27 PTA Executive Board
President: Alex Stephens
I’m a proud PPS graduate and I’ve now been part of the Bridlemile community for nearly seven years as a parent of three Bridlemile students — currently a 5th grader and twins in 2nd grade. I’ve spent many years volunteering in our school community. I’ve also coached several Bridlemile sports teams.
Beyond school, I serve as a board member and former multi-term president of the Gales Creek Camp Foundation, a summer camp for kids with Type 1 Diabetes, and as a board member and treasurer of the Bridlemile Foundation. I’m passionate about building strong communities, supporting kids and teachers, and helping create meaningful experiences for all families at Bridlemile.
VP: Kaleen Anderson
Hello! I'm Kaleen (Kali) Anderson. Our family has called Portland home since 2012 and Bridlemile since 2023. We have three children who are in 2nd grade, Kindergarten, & preschool. I work as a financial advisor, serve on the board of my family's farm, and spend too much time starting craft projects I never finish.
I love new ideas and finding creative solutions to challenges. I’m passionate about helping build a school community that feels vibrant, welcoming, and supportive for every student and caregiver.
Secretary: Robert Schaefer
Hi! I’m Robert Schaefer: father of 2 Beagles, avid but amateur runner, and unanimously voted least funny person in the family. I have spent the last decade working as a process engineer at Intel where, above all else, I’ve learned the amazing things that can be accomplished when people work together.
I’m humbled by this opportunity, ready to listen, and excited by the prospect of serving this community as PTA Secretary.
Treasurer: Jeff Schmidt
I am Director of Investments and a shareholder at Vision Capital Management, a local, majority female-owned investment firm. I co-oversee the economic, corporate and financial market analysis and decision making of Vision’s investment strategies. I am a CFA Charterholder and University of Washington alumnus.
My oldest son, Wesley, is finishing second grade and my youngest son, Noah, is finishing kindergarten at STM. I find the beauty of the Pacific Northwest to be among the true treasures of this country which is why I’m still here since leaving San Diego at 18.
Technology Officer: Tom Nichols
Bridlemile resident since 2011, originally from North Carolina. Father to Oscar (6th) and Harvey (4th) with wife Kate, and am nearing the end of our Bridlemile phase!
Joined PTA Executive Board in 2024 as "member at large" and was the "technology chair" executive committee member in 2025-26. My favorite parts of the Bridlemile PTA are helping to put on the community events, building an infrastructure to support the staff, and getting to meet new parents and families. After 2 years on the board, I'm looking to transition the tech role to a new person in the next year, so if that can happen earlier I will gladly stay involved next year to make for an easy handoff and extra "unofficial" support of the executive committee in the 26-27 year.
Member at Large: Christy Irvine
I was born and raised in Oregon and now live in the Bridlemile neighborhood with my husband, Matteo, our kids, Jilly (incoming second grader) and Simon (preschooler), and our elderly chocolate lab.
As a Bridlemile parent, I've enjoyed serving as the PTA's member-at-large in 2025-26 and as Kindergarten room parent in 2024-25. I'm grateful for our community and look forward to again serving on the board.
